Crystal Cabinet is a series of six works that originate from an interest in the largely undocumented role of women in the design and production of hippy-communes in the 1960’s. Found materials resonant of a domestic interior of this era, along with women’s clothing and photographic elements, have had their surfaces interrupted with folds, drapes, slashes and incisions, so that something of their nature may be revealed.
