Hurry On Sundown, 2010
Ceiling installation with tent fabric and fishing line, approx. 11.3 x 5m. Installation view of the exhibition Surplus Value at Occupy Space, Limerick, 2010
Hurry On Sundown is a sculptural work produced specifically for Surplus Value. The work is made up of a series of large fabric panels stitched into a net design for a geodesic sphere, then suspended from the ceiling. These panels are constructed using fabric from tents abandoned at the site of a music festival that took place in 2009. The title borrows from a track by the psychedelic space-rock band Hawkwind.
